New stills from Banished have been shared on Far Far Away, and a few of Major Ross are included. 

For the Australian broadcast of Banished on BBC First, the BBC has created a new site for the series, with a gallery and promo videos. Foxtel has included afeature on the series in their latest magazine - screenshots have been shared on Twitter. The series begins in Austraia on June 25th.

But the season’s finale is one of the finest episodes of television I’ve seen this year – drama from start to finish with blistering brutality and tension. Again Adam Nagaitis and Ryan Corr excel in their roles as personal storylines play a huge role in the show’s bigger plot.

The Radio Times has had news from the BBC about the decision to cancel Banished.

BBC spokesperson told RadioTimes.com “There are no current plans for Banished to return. We are very proud of the series and hugely grateful to all those who worked so hard on it. However, in addition to all its new titles, the BBC2 drama budget only allows for a limited number of returning dramas a year which means we have to make hard choices.”

Cal MacAninch tweeted the terrible news that Banished will not be recommisioned for another series. For those upset by the news, there is still a petition to sign, and other ways to let the BBC know your feelings! Follow the Save Banished Twitter account! Badly done, BBC. Badly done.
