The BBC has uploaded preview clips for next week's final episode of Banished.

What does the future hold for our trio of convicts? After a slightly slow start this excellent drama from Jimmy McGovern has really turned into compulsive viewing – and tonight's tense finale is no exception. Over the past six episodes alliances have been forged, lines have been crossed, love has been lost and found, morals have been tested, and more than one grave has been dug on the colony's bleakly beautiful sandy beach. The central story of convicts James, Tommy and Elizabeth is masterfully concluded in this powerful final episode, which also features particularly fine performances from Ewen Bremner as Reverend Johnson and David Wenham as Governor Phillip.
